DEEP PURPLE & MONSTER TRUCK!!!!

Well it’s a match made in heaven, at least in our minds.  Except that it really wasn’t something I ever conceived to be possible in this realm of existence.  Today I’m over-joyed to have my realm blown apart by the amazing news that we are indeed opening for one of the greatest hard rock bands to ever grace the stage of rock music.  We are confirmed to be playing four shows in February starting on Feb 8th in Ottawa.  The dates we will be opening are below and the complete listing for the ‘Smoke on the Nation’ tour can be found HERE.

02.11.12 - London, ON
02.12.12 - Toronto, ON
02.13.12 - Hamilton, ON

We couldn’t possibly be more excited to be playing these tour dates. We are to understand that tickets are in short supply so be sure to grab some now if you want to come check out the show. See ya’ll real soon!

We are playing Hamilton AGAIN! TOMORROW!!

THE BEN & KERRY ROAST from Y108

That’s right folks. We have a free show at the Casbah tomorrow night courtesy of y108!! Not only can you come rock out but you can come check out some wicked comedy via a roast of Ben and Kerry by some great comedians for a great cause (Y108′s Children’s Fund)  All it will cost you to get in is a donation to the cause and a willingness to laugh and rock out on the Thursday night!  See ya’ll there.

courtesy of y108:

“Charlie Sheen had one and it was pretty funny, Pamela Anderson did not want her Hepatitis mentioned and William Shatner was protective of a backyard pool mishap in his Roast. The Y108 Ben and Kerry Roast has nothing off limits, no holds barred and no obscenity laws we have to follow.

This year we’re putting Ben and Kerry in the spotlight for the first Y108 Ben and Kerry Roast in concert with Comedy Records.

January 26th at the Casbah Ben and Kerry will take the thrones of dishonor and the rest of the Y108 Crew with the Comedy Records team will roast them over an open fire of Comedy. Hamilton’s own Monster Truck will be closing the show with some great live Rock & Roll.

Join us and laugh at Ben and Kerry, there’s lots of material and we’d love to see you January 26th at the Casbah, no cover, just a donation for the Y108 Children’s Fund please.”

LOVE ATTACK – Now Online

Monster Truck wins 2 HMA Awards!

I gotta tell you, when I saw we had been nominated for every instrument available and Rock recording of the year I really only wanted to win two.  I wanted to win Rock Recording of the Year and I wanted Harv to win Male Vocalist of the year. Guess what? BAMMMMM! got em!  It would have been great to pick up Guitarist of the year but I really don’t think I would have deserved it over some of the other insanely talented nominations.  As for Drummer I think Steve could have taken that one for sure but it wasn’t in the cards this year.  Brisco from the Dinner Belles won organist/keyboardist of the year over Brando which was no surprise from our crew or theirs.  You’d know what I mean if you have ever seen him play!  Congrats to everyone who grabbed one and congrats to all members of Team Dinner Truck.  We had an amazing night with friends and family that really was a true celebration of Hamilton’s amazing talent.  Cheers!

Laying Low, Preparing for Awesome!

I haven’t made an update to the site in a while.  We’ve been pretty busy doing life bullshit and taking some time to recoup from the Deaner Non-Stop Party People 2000 Tour.    Good news is The Sheepdogs Canadian Tour starts in one fucking week! (insert “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins).  I don’t really know what to say other than this tour is gonna rule.  You know this. I don’t even know why I’m telling you. Anyhow.  Check the dates, come and party, it’s gonna be awesome. Harvey bought a new strap to celebrate the tour, pictured on the left there.  I basically forced him to get it, but it just gave him a great excuse to do what he knew he had to do anyway.

In immediate news, The HMA’s are this Sunday, and not only are we playing the Awards Show, we are also nominated for 6 awards!  Best Rock Album, Vocals, Bass, Guitar, Drummer and Organ. Holy Shit Thanks Dudes/Babes! Whoever you are in your little Hamilton Music Fort we salute you.  Good Luck to the Dinner Belles as they are also up for 6? I think? lots for sure.  We’re bound to win something between our 2 groups and if not, we’re gonna party like we swept anyway.  See ya there!

Anyhow, sorry about the lack of updates, we’re also making a new record. Have I mentioned that? Who likes Full Lengths?

2 Shows Left!

YO! what up.

So I’m pretty sure we started this tour about 20 mins ago and it’s almost over! holy fuck! time flies when you’re hammered.

Things have been going great and we’ve had so many great nights meeting new friends and rocking the house down with the Nightseeker boys.  Deaner has been just been the King of Give’r every night and has taught us a few things on the gospel.

Huge country sized hugs to everyone who has donated their floor, hotel, bed’s & righteous smoke to MT in our first trek across the country.  The constant support from our friends continues to make this all possible and we are supremely grateful.

As many of you have heard our show in Hamilton with the Sheepdogs has been moved to……(wait for it)……..COPPS FUCKING COLISEUM. Well smack my ass and call me dandy. This show and the encompassing tour is going to be awesome! Check out the announced dates here. There will likely be more added in the coming weeks so keep checking back.

As we blast down the Alberta highway towards our Calgary show tonight we continue to whisper amongst ourselves about recording a full length early next year.  It’s about fucking time. Many of you may not know this about us but we hate EP’s. Surprised? you should be because we realize that’s all we’ve released in 2 years of existence.   If I like a band or a particular record I’m left unsatisfied after 4-5 songs and become frustrated waiting for them to release a complete album. So please know that we are on it and dedicated to getting a 10-14 track release out by spring/summer 2012. If we don’t do it I’ll be more pissed than you trust me.

We’re still waiting to see the Love Attack video too. arrrrrrgghhh!!!

I think that’s it for now.  If you have any suggestions for Merch Designs for the Sheepdogs tour head on over to our Facebook page and let us know!  We’re gonna make a bunch of new stuff!

later skater.
